AutoFilmPilotSales and Service Video

Turn every video into the customer’s next decision.

Personalized sales video and a marked-up service multi-point inspection — with an action attached to every view.

AutoFilm replaces the generic walkaround video and standalone video-MPI tools. Walkarounds and inspections are captured against the VIN, marked to the exact finding, and delivered on a branded page where the customer can approve, decline, book or raise a trade.

Read this first: AutoFilm is in pilot, not Live. Operating with selected dealerships. It is not generally available and cannot be purchased today.

  • Value My Trade

The decision happens inside the video page rather than in a follow-up call about it.

Multi-point inspection — recommended work

2021 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD · 2T3P1RFV5MC164821

Illustrative Data

Findings

  • Front brakes

    video marker 04:12

Timestamped MPI. Front pads flagged at 3mm.

  • Cabin air filter

Filmed at the housing beside a clean replacement, so the customer compares the two rather than reading a line item.

  • Rear tires

Tread shown against the gauge on camera, with the reading legible in frame and the finding attached to the vehicle record.

The customer’s decision

Each recommendation is answered from the same page the customer is already watching, on their own phone, without an app or a login.

  • Approve
  • Ask a Question
  • Decline

Declined work stays on the record and is re-asked at the next visit.

Illustration of the customer-facing inspection page. The findings, the video marker and the vehicle are fictional demonstration data from a single validated source, and the three choices are shown rather than operable. No approval rate, decline rate or revenue figure appears anywhere on this page, because none has been measured and published.

The workflow

One video rail across sales and service.

The same six moves whether the person holding the phone is on the sales floor or under a lift, so the customer experience does not change shape between the two departments.

  1. 01

    Record

A salesperson films a walkaround, or a technician films an inspection, on the phone already in their hand. The recording attaches to the VIN, not to a messaging thread.

  2. 02

    Send

The video goes to the customer on a dealer-branded page by message or email. No app to install and no login to remember.

  3. 03

    Watch

Chapters and markers take the customer straight to the part that concerns them instead of asking them to hunt through a single long recording.

  4. 04

    Act

The customer approves, asks a question, declines, books a test drive or raises a trade from the same page they are already watching.

  5. 05

    Attribute

Every recording, finding and decision carries the person who created it and the VIN it belongs to, so activity is visible by person and by department.

  6. 06

    Retain

Approvals, declines and the footage behind them stay on the vehicle record, so work a customer passed on can be raised again with the original evidence attached.

Product status

AutoFilm is in pilot. It is not Live.

Pilot
  • AutoFilm is not Live. It is in pilot, is not generally available, and cannot be purchased today.
  • Rooftop names exactly one deployment — Harte INFINITI, the founder's own store and a disclosed design partner. There is no pilot cohort, and no statement on this site describes what pilot dealerships typically experience.
  • No rate is published while the application is in pilot. Early-access terms are agreed with each pilot dealership in writing.
  • AutoFilm's contribution to the Shared Vehicle Record is being built alongside the pilot. Inspection evidence flowing automatically into an AutoCurb appraisal, or completed repairs flowing into the AutoLabels Vehicle Passport, is In Development.
  • No engagement, approval, decline or revenue figure is published for AutoFilm anywhere on this site. Nothing has been measured, reviewed and authorized for publication.

One deployment, disclosed

Harte INFINITI in Hartford, Connecticut is the only deployment Rooftop names, and it is the store where Rooftop’s founder works. It is a disclosed design partner, not an arms-length reference. Any sentence beginning “pilot dealers typically” would be describing a group that does not exist.

[KEN: supply the AutoFilm pilot scope — which store or stores, which departments, and the date the pilot started. The site currently documents AutoCurb as the application in production at Harte INFINITI.]

[KEN: supply the pilot measurements — videos sent, watch-through, recommendations approved and declined — with the store, the window and the method, before any figure appears on this page or in the Viewer engagement card.]

[KEN: confirm the early-access commercial terms a pilot dealership signs, since no rate is published while the application is in pilot.]

Shared Vehicle Record

AutoFilm is where first-hand evidence enters the record.

Rooftop is the platform; AutoFilm is one of the applications running on it. It captures what someone actually saw on the vehicle, and reads back what the other applications already know about the same VIN.

Contributes to the record

  • Inspection evidence
  • Customer engagement
  • Service decisions
  • Vehicle-condition observations
  • Sales & service video activity

Reads back from the record

  • VIN & equipment context
  • Warranty & Passport history
  • Prior service recommendations
  • Vehicle-value context
  • Customer ownership history

In DevelopmentBoth directions are being built alongside the pilot. Inspection evidence arriving automatically inside an AutoCurb appraisal, and completed repairs landing in the AutoLabels Vehicle Passport, do not happen on their own today.

Security and permissions

Video is customer data, handled as such.

  • Recordings, transcripts and customer decisions are dealership data. Who may film, who may publish a video to a customer, and who may read activity reporting are separate roles enforced where the data lives rather than in the interface.
  • Customer-facing links are dealer-branded, and messaging consent is captured and retained against the version of the language the customer was shown.
  • Media storage, encryption, sub-processors, residency and breach notification are documented once, in one place, rather than restated beside product copy.

Existing systems

Listed by category, each with its real status.

These are platform-level integrations. An AutoFilm pilot inherits them at whatever status they carry below — nothing is listed as connected because Rooftop intends to connect it.

Pricing and next step

No rate is published while AutoFilm is in pilot.

Operating with selected dealerships. The AutoFilm application is not generally available and cannot be purchased today.

Early-access pricing

Pilot

No rate is published while the AutoFilm application is in pilot. Publishing a monthly figure would price a product that is still changing and imply an order form that does not exist. Early-access terms are agreed with each pilot dealership in writing.
